Macclesfield Pledge Partnership
The Pledge Partnership puts employers at the heart of inspiring, informing and communicating with the next generation of employees in Cheshire and Warrington. It enables businesses to work directly with young people, teachers, parents, carers and youth workers to help the local community identify the employment opportunities available and to help young people become more employment ready. The main challenge in our region is the mismatch between what young people are choosing to study and the skills employers need in the area and the Pledge is part of the solution to try and help address this gap.
Within the Pledge Partnership there are nine Pledge areas, of which Macclesfield is one. The Macclesfield Pledge includes Macclesfield, Wilmslow, Poynton and Knutsford. It is one of the largest pledge groups in the region with over 100 businesses engaged and 100% of schools/colleges who are already working with the Macclesfield Pledge.
There are range of ways to get involved with the Pledge from events in schools, helping to shape the curriculum in a school as an Enterprise Advisor, sharing best practice as a sector, providing experiences to young people to make them more employment ready.
Benefits for getting involved with the Pledge are:
- Giving your business visibility, allowing you to get in front of young people and make them aware of your business/sector.
By providing information to schools and colleges you enable young people be aware of the opportunities and pathways locally so that students can make informed decisions about the local labour market.
- To be inspiring to our young people about you profession and to be inspired and generate new ideas through the process of working with young people.
The Pledge helps employers to build networks with local and national employers in the region and share best practice.
